Guide to Catholic High Schools in Omaha

The Omaha area has 8 Catholic high schools. 3 of them are all girls and 2 are all boys.
Mount Michael
Address: 22520 Mt Michael Rd, Elkhorn, Nebraska 68022
Gender: Male Only
Tuition: $14,665-$15,425 depending on grade level as well as optional room and board.
Grades: 9-12
School Size: Roughly 50 kids per grade
Mount Michael is a Catholic School that is in the northwestern part of Omaha near Elkhorn. It is a college preparatory high school. They were recognized as a National Blue-Ribbon School is 2012 and 2019.
According to Mount Michael’s website:
- Of all the metro Catholic and private high schools, Mount Michael has the lowest student-to-teacher ratio at 7:1.
- Over 80% of the staff hold master’s degrees or higher, or they are working towards their advanced degree.
- They have core classes, electives, nine AP courses and a variety of honor-level classes to challenge and achieve a young man’s quest for a sound and inspirational high school education
They do have payment plans available for tuition.
Skutt Catholic School
Address: 3131 S. 156th St, Omaha, Nebraska 68130
Gender: Co-Ed
Tuition: Ranges between $12,640-$12,940. Certain parishes will pay $400 of the tuition.
Grades: 9-12
Total Enrollment: 770 (Roughly 193 students per grade)
Skutt Catholic is a co-ed Catholic school that focuses on college prep. They are located in west Omaha just off 156th and Industrial Rd, near Zorinsky Lake. Skutt is a Class B school and was built in 1990.
It reports a teacher ratio of 13:1.
According to their website:
- The average Skutt Catholic teacher has 17 years of experience, and 85% of our educators hold a Master’s Degree. For comparison’s sake, the state average for educators with a Master’s Degree is 45%.
- Skutt Catholic offers 16 Advanced Placement courses and 21 Dual Enrollment courses with area colleges. It is feasible for a Skutt Catholic graduate to enter many colleges with enough credits to have earned sophomore standing – if so desired.
- Students join from 31 different schools, representing 27 zip codes and 25 Catholic parishes. Nearly 25% attended public school before joining Skutt Catholic, and 10% of the school population is non-Catholic.
Creighton Prep
Address: 7400 Western Ave, Omaha, Nebraska 68114

Total Enrollment: 1,000
Creighton Prep is a Jesuit preparatory high school that was founded in 1878. It is located in midtown Omaha at the corner of 72nd and Western Streets, approximately ten blocks north of Dodge Street.
Creighton Prep is the largest all-boys Catholic high school in the state of Nebraska. They compete in Class A athletics.
The school is a part of a Jesuit network consisting of 60 high schools and 28 colleges and universities in the United States.
The school offers 60 academic, service, and special interest clubs and activities.
According to its mission statement, Creighton Prep “forms men of faith, scholarship, leadership and service in the Catholic and Jesuit tradition.”

Marian High School

Total Enrollment: 925
Marian High School was founded in 1955. They have several needs-based scholarships and are willing to work with families regarding financial needs according to their website. They are located in north Omaha off 74th and Military Avenue.
According to Marian’s website:
- 90% of Marian faculty hold a Master’s degree
- Over 50 Clubs and Activities are available and 22 Athletic teams to join
Their mission is to “provide a Catholic college preparatory education for young women, to empower students to discover and develop their talents, and to inspire them to lead and serve as women of faith and compassion.”

Mercy High School

Tuition: $12,600
Grades: 9-12
Total Enrollment: 1075
Mercy High School was founded in 1955. Mercy is located in south-central Omaha off 48th and Woolworth Street, which is in between Center and Pacific. Mercy focuses heavily on academic excellence and reaching one’s potential.

Roncalli Catholic High School

Roncalli Catholic High School is an affordable Catholic high school located in north Omaha just south of Interstate 680. Roncalli has multiple academic programs. It is a co-ed high school that focuses on providing a good, quality education.

Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart

Duchesne Academy started back in 1881. It is located near midtown own, just eight blocks north of Dodge Street off 36th Street. Duchesne is a college preparatory school, and its main mission is love.
They come from the sacred heart education tree. Therefore, they stand firmly to the following goals: a personal and active faith in God, a deep respect for intellectual values, a social awareness which impels to action, the building of a community as a Christian value, and personal growth in an atmosphere of wise freedom. Gross Catholic High School

Gender: Co-Ed
Tuition: $12,250
Grades: 9-12
Gross Catholic is a co-ed school located off 42nd and Giles Street, just south of the Omaha border. It is the only Catholic high school in Bellevue, which allows it to serve the southern suburbs of Omaha. They have a strong emphasis on Catholic values according to their websites, and they use this framework to build off everything else.
